- The ZetaCompact measures electrophoretic mobilities in a vertical plane.
- It uses high accuracy image analysis, with angular trajectories resolution for large particles that are settling during measurement.
- A modular tool designed to tackle all the problems encountered when measuring the electrophoretic mobility of particles from 50nm up to 50µm and calculating the zeta potential of colloidal suspensions.
- Laser illumination and video interface allows submicronic particle measurement.
- The CELL consists of two palladium electrodes fitted into perfectly symmetrical chambers.
- A second pair of Platinum electrodes allows in-situ conductivity measurement.
- A kinematics mounting gives easy access to the quartz channel for easy cleaning. It allows rapid and precise positioning of the cell after cleaning.
- Sample temperature is measured in-situ by a fast response micro-probe.
- Fully automatic tracking of particles with state of the art image analysis software.
Applications: Ceramics, clays, water treatment, flotation

- The Zetawin Image Analysis Software computes the exact velocimetric trajectories for each particle appearing on the screen.
- The real histogram of mobilities can be calculated knowing the electrical field applied.
- The microscopic observation has the enormous advantage that the user can see the particles and therefore visualizes any perturbation within the electrophoretic chamber (convection, sedimentation, contamination...). The technique can be used for tedious routine control.
- The system stores the images and computes the exact spectrum of mobility while guaranteeing an excellent representativity and reproducibility.
